Limbaugh or Powell Republican?

The intra-party fight over the ID of the GOP continues. Powell represents moderate Republicans, of which there aren't many any more. It's what Mark Parkinson was until he switched to the Demos. Some GOP leaders probably wouldn't want Eisnenhower in the party if we were around today.

Powell is a RINO. He voted for Obama so I agree with Cheney. Powell left the Republican party already.

I can see the bumper stickers...

"We don't like Ike! He's a socialist wanting to build interstate highways with your hard earned money"

Limbaugh is a fat loud mouth and Powell is a hero. I know which one I pick to support.

As for the party, they will just keep giving the democrats the national election until the get back to being about small government and not about throwing out everyone who is not full of hate.

RINO huh? Lots of Republicans couldn't cast a vote for McCain this past election. It appears their hearts wouldn't allow it...

McCain was a weak candidate, but I had to vote for him because of Obama's stance on the issues. yes, you're right, I'm a stone cold racist! (Thought I'd go ahead and get that out, since you lefties are bound to say it eventually.) Everyone knows that if you didn't vote for Obama, no matter what the reason, you must belong to the Klan.

I don't see a true Republican voting for Obama in anyway. So, no Powell is not a Republican. I really don't care what he calls himself, he couldn't support Obama and be a Republican at heart.

Is anyone upset about Obama's Supreme Court pick? If you have any guns, you might want to check into her backgroud...

Tell you what, when they take your guns, I'll give you mine, OK?? Ammo too, I am having no trouble finding it, as some (or one, repeatedly) are suggesting.

And to ANON who keeps playing the race card; you have absolutely NO room to talk. Your party has been playing the God card for decades. Forced to choose racism or atheism, I know where my allegiances would go. Even though I don't want my gov't shrunk to where it would fit in a bathtub.

Anon @ 10:22:

Quite a conundrum you created for yourself last election.

My question is this: On what issue(s) was Obama not right on in your opinion? What did McCain offer on those issues that was better?

As an unaffiliated voter, Obama seemed much stronger in just about every area. Taxes, nat security, diplomacy, education, health care, reforming gov't, war plan, etc. McCain had no meat in those areas, no specifics, that hurt him tremendously.

It sad to see you bring up race, but since you did, it seemed apparent that the GOP played on the fears of racists to drum up votes. I don't think you can argue against that.

Put yourself in Powell's shoes for a moment. You love your country and have served it with honor. You resign from Sec of State immediately after the 2004 election due to your disapproval of what the President did getting us into two wars, one of them most of the world calls an illegal war. You decide to wait due to loyalty to your party.

Then when asked who you support for President in 2008, rather than telling a lie, you state that you support Obama because of some very specific reasons, war, diplomacy, etc. That seems to be the problem, one cannot be a Republican and have the freedom of disapproving of the party and the direction it has gone in. Powell is an American hero, don't forget that when you sully his name.

Picky, picky, picky...

Ike was awesome. Get over yourselves. Just because you belong to a party doesn't mean you have to vote for them...when it all comes down to it, it's just accrued junk mail and jury duty. God bless the U S of A.

I'm sure people in DC thought the same thing at one time. If it can be done in one city, it can be done other places. I'm personally not that worried about it, but the point was he is nominating a judge that believes in that. We should be concerned about it, but then again, he's doing everything he said he was going to do, so maybe you are just thrilled.

And possibly you're looking for different ammo?

It is true, every time you speak up against Obama, you get called a racist. The new judge Obama is trying to appoint has some controversial racial statements herself. And I think it is funny how the media is going so crazy over her being Latino. Bush appointed a Latino for the Supreme Court too and the Dems struck it down. And I don't remember hearing all the hype about his appointee being the first possibly Latino Supreme Court Justice. When a conservative is a minority, they don't get the Mesiah treatment like the Dems do. Can't deny that one. Bush appointed many minorities to his cabinet, but no on seemed to care then.

The issues that I voted against Obama on was the abortion issue, the gun issue, and the turning this country into a socialist nation issue. We are far down the road to socialism after only a few months in office. The government owns interest in many businesses that used to be private, and used to be the backbone of this country. Next comes socialist healthcare, and later we'll see the "Civilian National Security Force" that he has promised.

No thank you.

For the person who said they are having no at all trouble finding ammo, you must be crazy. Unless you are talking about shotgun or .22 ammo. Handgun ammo (9mm, .40 cal, .45) is nearly impossible to find, and if you do find it, the price is double what it was before Obama took office. Just check the empty shelves at every Walmart in the country.

P.S. I am an Atheist, but I still do not condone the killing of innocent babies, or the moral decline this country has seen. One does not need to believe in fairies to have high morals and do the right thing.

Yep I went there said...

Joweto-
If he truly is a 'moderate Republican' he would have voted for McCain, because that's what McCain is a 'moderate Republican'. Obviously he has changed his views or voted based on race. He keeps saying the Republican party needs to be more moderate, but when we nominate a moderate - he won't vote for him! I really dont care if someone is Republican or Democrat - but don't hide behind a label that doesn't accurately describe you!!

Frankly, I can speak of whatever I like, and I can base my vote for President on whatever I like. I voted for Bush because the alternative was a wacko liberal who believed in things I don't. Did I disaagree with Bush on many things? yes. Did I think he was an idiot most of the time? yes. But he was the lesser of two evils. You may feel strongly against the war, but you have no right telling me how to choose my vote. Besides, I happened to believe that going to war was the right thing to do at the time, and I'm willing to bet that you did too. The American public was almost totally behind the war when it started. And you are overlooking the fact that Bush was acting on inteligence that was not accurate. I think Bush was a bad President now that it's all said and done, but I would rather he was there than Gore. Imagine if 9/11 had happened on Gore's watch. And as much as I didn't like Bush, I would take two Bushs over Obama any day.
