Photo-gate

Obama is dead wrong here. Security trumps transparency im many cases as it should. However, just because you think something will upset other people and "might" fan flames of anti-Americanism are not a good reason for secrecy. This only piques the curiosity of the public and makes them suspicious of what the government is hiding. Too often officials responsible for security and confidentiality take the easy route and put that over public trust.

To quote andy Dufrain, "How can you be so obtuse?"

It has nothing to do with secrecy and Anti-Americanism. What the administration has done is found is a way to pass the buck to the courts. Obama was criticized for last month's release of memos authorizing harsh interrogation techniques. If the photos are now made public over White House objections, the inevitable outrage might be deflected toward the courts and away from the president.

Sometimes, you have to go a little deeper.

I agree. This was done to force the supreme court to rule on it. IMHO, smart move...

Also IMHO, I think the people responsible for the "enhanced interrogation techniques" should be punished.

It made me throw up a little in my mouth when I heard a "Christian" leader say that is was OK for a follower of Christ to use these means, just to lend support to the Republicans, who are loosing ground over this issue. Pretty sad....

You say the train death was an accident, but newscow says it's a suicide. Who is right? I guess we'll have to see.

Now why should the general public know whether its suicide or accident? That is not any of our business and that is a personal family thing. To those that have that burning need to know, remember that eventually curiosity killed the cat.

Intelligence info & military opinions trumps the ACLU.
