He's leaving the Senate as promised (nice to see somebody let go of power as they promised) although Gov. ain't a bad job, either.
This sets up a real competition for U.S. Senator between Reps. Jerry Moran and Tiahrt on the Republican side, with Gov. Sebelius — unless she gets tapped by Obama between now and 2010 — as the only big name on the Democratic side. Brownback would then have a pretty clear path to Governor with Lt. Gov. Mark Parkinson? or Rep. Dennis Moore perhaps standing in his way? (look out for Dennis McKinney, the newly appointed state Treasurer, too)
Kansas hasn't had a Democratic Senator since the 1930s.

Lets hope Brown-back doesn't run for governor- that would be as bad as if you did! ha ha!! funny thought huh?
I hope Brownback does run for governor. I would vote for him.
It's just too bad more of them in D.C. don't take the 2 term principle to heart. I am in favor of term limits. They get up there and forget what it's like to be regular people. 10, 20, 30+ years in Congress, it's ridiculous.

I took it off ebecause I noticed a typo. So I changed it but maybe did not re-publish it? My fingers are cixelsyd at times.
McKinney will not be running for Governor against Parkinson. It will more likely be McKinney is hoping to run for a congrssional seat (whereever Greensberg fits into the congressional districts) since it appears that Moran and Tiahrt are on a collison course to tangle in a repub contest for U.S. Senator.
