Dearth of Democrats

(Thanks to the viewer who corrected my mispelling of dearth [dirth]. Hope the insult and snarkiness that came along with it make you feel better!)

While the national GOP is staggering, things look OK for Republicans in Kansas. A Republican will likely take Brownback's seat (Tiahrt or Moran) and Brownback will be a strong candidate for Gov. Meanwhile, Demos don't have anyone announced for either of those spots. Parkinson probably will announce soon his Lt. Gov. pick, who will likely be the Democratic frontrunner for Gov. But who will it be? People always throw out the Docking name, but I don't think either Jill or Tom Docking are on in the mix.

By "dirth" do you mean "dearth" (a scarcity or inadequate supply)? "Dirth" is not in my dictionary. I don't want to get into name calling, but when you try to appear smarter than you are, you end up looking like a fool.

There is no insult or snarkiness (well, maybe a little snarky, but I did not insult you). It was carefully worded.

A further point; 'dearth' is not an easily misspelled word. You either know it or you don't. It is not a word used in everyday conversation. Therefore, since you misspelled it, you obviously heard it somewhere. Doesn't the source you quoted deserve some attribution???

And, furthermore, the word 'dearth' carries with it a connotation not just a scarcity, but a scarcity that makes dear, such as a famine (note the root word 'dear'). Sooooo...you are saying you feel the lack of Dems poses a particular problem for you. Not exactly an unbiased stance. Is this your feeling, or the feeling of your source?

And, to your snarky comment, it doesn't make me feel better. Why would it?? That's a pretty childish comment (deriding the comment, not you).

Oh, misspell has two s's. That's a commonly misspelled word. Unless you have a spell check.

...and you would think a newspaper would have spell check?? right??

Good grief. This is a blog, not an actual newspaper.

Nice. Don't print my other correction of your "O'Neil" quote and correct it yourself. By the way, it's "O'Neill."
