David this is confusing. Are you saying Giles is running for city commission? If he working now as assistant county attorney? Is that an elected position?

It's confusing.

No -

The County Attorney is an elected position. The Assistant DA is appointed by the DA. So by Giles running for commission does not prove to be a conflict of interest at all.

PS. It is really not that confusing

Good answer but to the wrong question, anonymous 2:58pm

The question is to please clarify is Giles seeking a seat as a City Commissioner. Now that is a pretty simple question which clears up some confusion.

Not sure I stated is "that" confusing. Any confusion at all can prompt a request for clarification.

The old saying that there is no such thing as a dumb question is followed by its corollary: The only dumb question is the one not asked.

So is Giles seeking a seat on the AC commission? Are you Giles? Is that what you're doing and is that why you're on here sniping instead of just answering?

Well, there is also the wait and see posture. On the 25th or 26th, there will be a story with the full listing of candidates for all open local seats. Then we shall know which seat you are seeking Mr. Giles.

By then ofcourse, your opting to retort on here instead of clearly state your intent will have lost my vote. I've had enough attitude at City Hall. I am praying for someone who wants to offer real leadership.

Real leadership embraces constituents and demonstrates both respect and civility towards citizens. That's how you build and sustain functional and progressive communities.
