Plan to wait
Folks round here say they've never see the voting lines so long. What this means, in Kansas, is kind of a mystery. Does it mean Obama has turned out new voters? Does it mean that McCain has? Does it mean that folks really want to vote for, or against, the sales tax initiatives. Does it mean folks are really interested in the Abrams-Goodwin race?

I know what you mean, Makes you wonder what exactly is the cause? Hopefully it's a combination of all things and votes will be counted and voices heard... I have to say VOTE EARLY, I did last week and it was a breeze!
I just truly hope that the outcome will show in Kansas that Obama gave him a run for his money. I know that personally I've seen WAY more Obama signs in AC than McCain. I can count around a few block radius in my area atleast 9 signs....
I also feel really bad for Obama, It's supposed to be one of the most exciting fulfilling times for him and it's now becoming bittersweet with his Grandmother passing away.... My prayers and thoughts are with him today and always.
I think it's just the opposite. I think it's people who have come out against Obama, because as time has passed, and more of his crazy ideas have come to light, people are scared of an Obama presidency... and I don't blame them.
I think it means that want to vote Goodwin out!!!
Obama can't work for the FBI or Homeland Security, plus his aunt is an illegal- all of our enemies what him to become president and have sent millions in campaign funds- millions he spent on a commercial to BUY your vote- and people still want him for president- get a clue! BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR!
I'm inclined to say that the record voter turnout has a lot to do with people fed up with the Bush regime (and in many cases, Republicans in general). They're thirsty for a fresh new start. I know I am.
Obama can't work for the FBI or Homeland Security...
Now they will be working for him. How's that for irony?
Great day for America and the world, mediocre day for Cowley County...
The Republicans made almost a clean sweep of Cowley and they're looking good in the rest of the state. Thank God, people in the midwest still respect high moral fiber!
We'll looks like that weren't THAT scared of him!! YES WE DID!
Rachel, how can you be thirsty after drinking all that Kool Aid?
Republican = MORAL FIBER???
Are you serious? Take a look at history, both national and local, for evidence to the contrary...
Why were there so few places to vote on the east side of town? There were three on the west and only one on the east that I am aware of. Also, why can't something be done to help the handicapped that were unable to stand in the 1 to 2 hour long line? Some with walkers were let in but those with less obvious health issues were forced to wait and some opted to just go home. Perhaps, early voting would have helped had any of us really known where to go but for those that did not do it some help should have been available
^ I agree.. We voted early and it does pay, I will do that for the rest of my life. We were in and out within 10 minutes! You had to drive to Winfield to the court house and go to the clerks office where they had 4 machines that you could vote on.
No one mentioned where the early voting took place, A family memeber had to call around to find out. I thought that was crazy- Then to find out that we had to drive there was also crazy.. Why don't we have some machines HERE in our town in OUR court house?
You feel sorry for Obama? Why because he has illegal relatives or that is cost him so much to buy the presidency?
