Quote of the day

The quote for the day on my desk calendar seemed like a good thought: The calendar is from th Freedom Forum, a first amendment advocacy group in D.C.

"When religion controls government, political liberty dies; and when government controls religion, religious liberty perishes"
Former U.S. Senator Samuel J. Ervin. Jr., 1971

"When liberals control the media, we all lose."

-Me, just now.

Hey Steve Jelf, who are you, who is Sam, and why do you feel the need to berate my opinion by assuming I stole it from someone else? Are you a liberal? Are you in the phone book? Can you deny that the liberal media played a HUGE part in getting Obama elected to the POTUS? Do you think if the media had treated him the same as they did McCain and Palin that he would be where he is?

You can google me to find out who I am. Who are you? Samuel Ervin (1896-1985) was a United States Senator from North Carolina from 1954 to 1974. He was quoted in Dave's "Quote of the day". I'm a sane Republican like Dole, Ike, and Dirksen, so I guess that makes me a liberal. Yes, but I don't find you there. Sure I can. What got Obama elected was Dubya, the Great Christian Delay, and other ideology-blinded doofuses taking over the party and driving it over a cliff. If McCain hadn't been swiftboated by the Bushites in 2000 and had been elected president then, maybe we would have had some honor and integrity in the White House for the past eight years. I went to the caucus last winter and voted for McCain. Did you? I've been a McCain fan for years, and I was deeply disappointed by his vacuous and insulting campaign. He might have had a chance if he hadn't felt compelled to smooch the buttocks of the nut fringe "base" and drive Reagan Democrats and others in the middle to Obama. As for Palin, she's a female Bush, with all the intellectual curiosity of a holstein. All the "liberal media" had to do was put a microphone in front of her and let her blab.
