Mayor Mell

No evidence of corruption on Mell's part in this article. But his language is not as clean as his contracts with the city apparently are.

Mell doesn't seem to get that his roughshod, impulsive approach is what fosters suspicion about him. A touch of diplomacy would go a long way to cull rumors and perceptions.

Accountability!
How many people in this city could emulate the antics of the mayor before this community might become brutally different.

Too bad he does not use that Dirty Harry approach with competing for dollars from state and federal. With them he is a bit sheepish or simply disengaged.

The role of mayor is to represent the citizens rather to reprimand them.

Sounds like we should see a bigger outcry from the citizens?

Since you can't accuse them of being disengaged, could it be that there are more who agree with him than you would like to believe or admit?

There are plenty of folks who would readily admit that they don't like how he comes across. Maybe they don't like how he is saying it but generally agree with WHAT he is saying?

Points to ponder.

If mell was a teacher or physician and pulled the stunts he did ("I can't speak black", I don't care what people think, PC is all BS, white elitists, etc, etc). I wonder how many people would allow him to stay in that school or clinic and be around their kids. Not too many, but its okay for him to represent everyone in a city. Great set of standards we hold our commissioners to.
