Obama "uppity?"

Anybody agree with this judgment? I think it's nearly impossible to know true motives on this, but its understandable why some would be suspicious

Disclaimer-I am a registered Republican.
I am not sure if I would call him "uppity", but I do think he has shown those charactoristics, but I think Romney and Clinton are that way also (McCain has shown some as well). Problem, because of our PC world, you can't call a black man uppity. A black man can call a another black the N-word, but if a non-black calls someone, especially a black man, the N-word, watch-out, it is a racial term. Can't use the word lynch in the came context with a black man; it is not PC (politically correct).

I, myself, find no-fault w/ Obama. I think he may be a good president. I am not sure right now, but in the future. I think he has the right vision, just not all the qualifications. Primaries have left me with pretty much two choices, McCain and Obama, and I am still see-sawing between the two. I beleive Obama going to Berlin was stupid; it did not serve any purpose other than smooze w/ the Europeons. I thought it was cool that McCain went to Sturgis. He connected w/ votors. But, I think McCain has done some stupid things as well. I am worried that he may go ballistic if someone/some country crosses him. I hear he has a temper.

Back to your original question, or what it actually means. No matter how much people deny it, this election will be about race. If Clinton was running, it would be about gender. This country, I am afraid, will be severly divided in November. The orticle itself said that at least 80% of the black vote will go to Obama just because he is black. That seems a long way from MLK's vision where people would not be judged by the color of their skin, but by their charactor (paraphrase).

He comes off as naive & one with not enough experience to run a country. He isn't running for president of the world. He seems to tolerate America.

Naive in thinking that inflating our tires will stop the need for drilling.

Most liberals are uppity. Hillary is uppity. John Edwards is uppity. Dave Seaton, Senior is uppity.

The left & east coast want Obama, but middle America isn't so sure.

It will be interesting if the polling bump after the Democratic convention happens or if people are tired of politics.

You should really read Thomas Friedman.

It might enlighten you as to just how important it is to you that our next president understand the world's stage.

And as for the comment "most liberals are uppity. Hillary is uppity. John Edwards is uppity. Dave Seaton, Senior is uppity." I'll give you three responses: Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, and Ann Coulter. Can't get more uppity than these wingnuts.

I'll remember your comment during the election "middle America isn't so sure" (about Obama). McCain is likely to still carry Kansas, Nebraska and Oklahoma...but I'll be checking on Iowa, Missouri, Colorado, SD, Minnesota, Arkansas, Ohio and Indiana...just to name a few states in Middle America that might deliver a landslide in favor of Senator Obama.

How dare someone call a black man uppity. This is 2008 for goodness sake. Can't we get past that for just once and see people for who they are? I'm excited for our democratic party and this looks like a good time for us.

The republicans have had their chance and didn't do very well. We were better off with democrats in control and hopefully, we will return to that during this election.

Obama is not uppity. He is smart and he is a good candidate against McCain.
