Lowe's lives?
We've heard some rumbling that Lowe's and/or the developer who sought to bring a Lowe's to Ark City in 2007, has revived their interest because of the change in the city commission.

What kind of rumblings? I really doubt it in this economy. Especially after the way they were treated the last time.
Lowes used to be ok, the last 2 times we went to purchase appliances though, we would find one we liked but sure enough it was the last model and naturally already sold. Starting to wonder if its some kind of plot to get us to buy something more expensive or if we were truelly that unlucky.
In order to come back to the "talking table" we would have to convince lots of people. The city commissioners, the schools and the county. The city can't do it by themselves and the schools don't want people that are employed since it cuts the funding for special economic programs and the county commission is owned by Winfield and special interests that always hurt Ark City...if we want it we gotta yell pretty loud and it has to be lots of us. If the city can lose a petition so can the schools and the county.
I went to Wood Lumber and got some very helpful advice which saved me quit a bit of $$$$, then they steered me to a carpenter for my room addition, thank you. Delivered, unloaded and reasonably price, money stayed local, didn’t go to Atlanta.
And for lunch, the Green Door hit the spot, yep that’s me all Ark City, home spun and proud of it.
Wow! Lowe's? Really? Well, let's get an early start -- we'll need gags for Mel Kuhn and Dotty Smith, and perhaps one for Dr. Ballard (wouldn't one think our school superintendent would want a few more kids enrolled whose parents are employed and who can afford to pay for their educations and their lunches?)... We've only been to Lowe's in Ponca three times this month, but we are going again tomorrow, along with hundreds of other Ark Citians. Let's pray that, for once, we do something right and get this community moving forward!
Wouldn't the county come out ahead as far as the jail with the 1/2 cent sales tax? Maybe it would get us all out of the hole on that one. Our property taxes have gone up every year since it started. Maybe something like this would make a difference?

That would be sweet...I went to the Lowe's in Ponca twice last weekend!

I went there twice too and ate at their local restaurants!
We always eat at Perkins when we go to Lowe's. Yum.
I went twice in two weeks, and ate at Perkins, and Burger King.
I also bought a snow cone

I also got two sno-cones.
I also went to their pet store and bought two containers of hamster food.
