Alsup retirement

County Administrator Leroy Alsup's says he'll probably retire soon.

Do you think, as the Cowley County's first chief executive, he's done a good job and shown that the county administrator position is worthwhile?

I would say yes based on the success of getting the new jail built, establishing Cowley First, settling a tax dispute with GE, getting a property clean-up program going, and other things...

It is hard to say for me as he is the first person to hold such a position. I bet he could have been worse and likely could have been better as well. Some things in the county seem better lately, but other things seem worse. Very hard to say really.

Makes it easier to understand why he's letting that kid have the Cowley First job, still, it isn't appropriate.

He never seem to be a supporter of any Ark City project, growth or ideas. I think he is a good person but not open to our community.

In what way did Mr. Alsup solve the GE tax problem? Shouldn't that have been handled by the Field? Aren't both cities involved in directing action there? It seems more like Mr. Alsup is standing on the shoulders of working people to make himself look good.
