Boon or boondoogle?

Cash for clunkers is getting cars sold including here in Cowley County but car dealers are still skeptical
Is this the stimulus at work boosting the economy or is this government waste and interference?

My problem with the Cash for Clunkers deal is many people will trade in a perfectly good car, get a new car that may only get a few more MPG, and have to take out a loan to get it. It is a good idea to buy something on credit right now, with the type of economical environment we are in currently? I would like to see the statistics on defaulted loans and repos in about a year (nation-wide) after all this pans out.

I thought it was funny that your online poll had no response for people who didn't like the web redesign.

I have mixed feelings about the whole CARS program. I am a collector car fan and own one that I love to show. This program could be damaging the hobby for future collectors. Only time will tell. Also a lot of the stimulus money is being spent on foreign cars. IMHO the money should have been reserved for domestic vehicles. By that I mean those made IN the USA. Those made in Canada and Mexico shouldn't qualify either. The other side of the coin is that I'm happy someone is trying to kick start things even if part of it is somewhat misguided.
