Beer garden is back

Check today's Traveler or Web site later. Chamber asking permission to host an outdoor beer garden, like they did in 2007. As I recall, there weren't any problems associated with it, and many people enjoyed it. But I think at least one church boycotted the parade due to it.

Oh we just can't have this. Beer in our little town. Oh no. Next they will want to dance. Or wear shorts. Those heathens. Praise Jesus.

Why do you feel the need to be drunk to have a good time? What is wrong with a nice family day wothout alcohol?

I think you should look at the underlying issues that make you unable to have fun without alcohol.

@12:55 --

Several times a week I drink 1 or 2 light beers. I sometimes drink them at home, I sometimes drink them in a bar or restraunt. I do not feel much affect if any from them. I do not drink 3 or more. My friend is in law enforcement and I have voluntarily taken a breathalizer and this does not qualify me as driving under the influence or intoxicated. I have drank these beers in places like old town in Wichita or similar areas in OKC in KC, and walked around just fine afterwards.

I completely agree with you that being "drunk" in public is a bad thing. But please know that some of us are responsible enough to handle drinking a little alcohol an still being able to function normally.

Especially when you've built up a tolerance from drinking more than 1 beer nearly every day.
