Can we please just get this over with? Obama should stand up and say that if Congress refuses to pass repeal of this discriminatory policy then he will, by executive order, abolish it.
The report linked to above shows most military don't have a problem with getting rid of it, and we already know that a large majority of the public supports it.
This will be less controversial than racial integration of the troops during Eisenhower's time.
The arch of history bends toward justice.

It depends on "who" you talk to. The Pentagon says a majority of the military supports repealing DADT, but in another report, a majority of military in combat operations do not (something like 66-67% support leaving DADT alone). Anybody can skew the numbers in the way they want them to be.
I agree that Obama should stand up and abolish DADT.
Because that would make him a one-termer for sure! (as if he isn't already headed down that road)
