More smoking ban benefits

Public smoking bans apparently reduce heart attacks, study shows. The reasons to ban smoking keep mounting. It's only a matter of time before the state bans public smoking. It would be nice, though, if Ark City were ahead of the curve...eh em, City Commission.

The reduction in heart attacks may have little to do with the absence of smoke. It is more likely that the liberal sissies aren't getting so stressed out by the fact that they have won the right to make criminals out of the smokers, who, by the way, pay so much taxes on their cigs now that the gov. might be able to funnel a little more cash towards the NEA or ACORN

Everyone knows that smoking is good for you. Mell Kuhn says so, so it must be true!

There are pro's and con's. You ban smoking you lose the tax revenue and it can be argued your rights. But you gain clean air, healthier living, and on the other side- you gain your right to clean air and a smoke free environment.

The price is so ridiculous that only addicted smokers are still hanging in there. Like anything else, you can offer to help releave the addiction through some program, but some people are so addicted and protective of their rights to smoke that they can have a heart attack, lung cancer and one foot in the grave and still be holdng a cigarette. I would like to call that ignorance, but I know too many intelligent smokers for that to fly.

4:08- Goodness- a little right side bitterness on here? Remember friend, both side have become a little radical, causing all to lose sight of reality and the real issues. Don't get sucked in- it's counterproductive, and our government is doing it for us- at some point we need to float to the top and swim out.

Kuhn's been pretty quiet lately. Pretty nice! Hope it stays this way.

I think we should approve liberal bans. What do ya think?

Who cares about health concerns? No one wants to live forever. Smoking is cool and that's all there is to it.

I came across this article on CNN.com

Seems pretty straight forward. Smoking bans save lives.
