Sensible on speech
Winfield schools met to discuss the speech controvery and decided to let teachers show it, if it fit into their schedule and allow parents to take students out of they wanted.

I don't appreciate the school censoring my children. They don't have that right. I am not an Obama fan, but there is nothing wrong with the President giving a speech to the children of our Nation letting them know that even he has high expectations for their futures. It takes a village after all.
The government has removed prayer from school, barely lets the pledge of allegiance continue because of the 'one nation under God' phrase, brought in English as a second language, 'no child left behing' etc. Nationally, we now have brutality on school buses, have had shootings, scholastic scores have dropped when compared to other countries, etc. It sure seems like we make an awfully big deal about the motivation they would have realized if only the Pres. was allowed to speak to them!?!

Interesting you should bring up Winfield. What did Ark City do?
Not a damn thing. You can thank Ballard for that.

Tip O'Neil one of your heroes? You probably hold great admiration for the likes of William Ayers
