HNB no more

As workers covered up Home National Bank signs with RCB signs Saturday, you could feel a sense of history and change. The bank that for decades was owned by a local family and was so much a part of Ark City's financial, commercial and community life, is gone. But not totally - we still have three banks in town. And RCB does appear to be a regional-community bank, which could be the best news. We'll see what kind of changes they make to their new Ark City locations.

I drove by the down town AC bank on Sunday morning. There were quite a few out of state vehicles and several Cowley County Sheriff cars by it. Must have found a reason to call the cops I guess. Get on it traveler.

You're so naive...

After RCB finishes the transition, here is what is going to happen...

Trust Dept @ HNB- out of 8 jobs, probably 1 will be left. The Trust Operations will be merged into RCB's main operations.

Item Processing-Employs 8-10 people. 0 left after Item processing is sent to Claremore

Loan Processing-employs 10-14 people. 0 left after RCB transfers Loan processing to their center in Wichita.

Call Center-employs 6-8 people. 0 left after operations is transfered to Claremore.

RCB already has 2-3 branches in Ponca City; they don't need 3 more. Most likely 2 branches will be shutdown. This employess 10-30 people in Ponca City.

These locations in Ark City are branch facilities to RCB, not main hubs. Most likely, the main bank downtown will be shut down, because RCB will not need a branch facility that big. Branch facilities run "clean and lean", meaning 2-3 tellers, 2-3 CSRs, and 2 loan officers. The main bank of AC HNB probably has 50-60 employed.

RCB may be a community-friendly bank, but they are going to gut HNB in the AC market.

So who is the sheriff looking for as they are always around the HNB downtown AC bank. Either in the alley, on the side, in the front. Waiting on someone. Who is it?

The FDIC always security in cases there are disruptions by employees or customers.

HAHAHA! Are you seriously expecting the traveler to do some investigative work?

On another note I saw to sheriff cars parked behind the library this evening.....

to answer the question they are not looking for anyone. FDIC requires that the sheriff's officers are present on location. It is mostly a formality protocal(?)
they are done I think if not they are very close to being done with having law enforcement present.
