Immigration reform push

Obama gives a speech to launch new effort at immigration policy reform.

Here's an idea — what if BOTH sides compromised a bit on the immigration wars and the county tightened the borders AND helped legitimize the people with good records who came here illegally.

Remember, you like those $2 socks at Wal-Mart and that $2.97 lb hamburger.

"Immigration Reform" = AMNESTY

Why not call it what it is? There is no way the American people will go for it. The only way Obama gets this passed is by dirty tricks and backroom deals like he did with Healthcare. And then he can kiss any chance of being re-elected goodbye. Then again, he will have 11 million new democrats to vote for him. Better make the voting machines bi-lingual though.

IF there were a compromise, what would be the difference between this and what has been done in the past? I think history has proven over and over that compromise does not work in this situation.

If you pass amnesty without first closing the border, you will have a stampede of illegals coming here to get amnesty. In fact, I would bet that since the president gave his speech today, they have already started flocking here so they can be included in this amnesty bill.

I can only laugh. I make a comment about the president and our editor here won't let it through. I guess the president needs votes next election so by allowing the illegals to become citizens he figures he can get more.

And oh yea.....I guess you dont' have much to say about the Russian spies and Obama trying to sweep it under the rug.

Walmart has nothing to do with illegal immigration except for hiring some to work in their stores, and they got busted and fined for that. Most of their cheap stuff comes from China, or from other manufacturers who are forced to lower their prices in order to be sold at Wal-Mart.

The sad fact is you can't resolve illegal immigraton from Mexico and Central America on this side of the Border!

Its too big of a Black Market on which a few can make a profit at the expense of the desperation of many!

Even if we secure the borders it won't entirely stop the attempts!

Mexico has to be held accountable!

We have to help them and at the same time help ourselves!

Amnesty or reform doesn't change the facts!

AND

It is simply unbelievable that we can extend benefits to illegals and then withhold or reduce them from our own Citizens! (Especailly the elderly who have few, limted,
or NO other options!)

Btw: If you don't think the elderly are suffering as the result:

I just talked to an elderly man in his eighties who had his SS reduced by $130.00/month!

The reasoning was that the "COST OF LIVING HAS GONE DOWN"!

It certainly has for him!

I wonder if it did for those who made that decision?

Funny how we can't just enforce the laws already in the books. The only reason our policy is broken is because the government won't enforce the laws. Next thing you know, they will be saying our constitution is broken because it doesn't fit the agenda of the liberal left or the poor, poor imigrants of other countries. Enforcing the laws does away with more legislation. the last thing we need is more legislation from the pro amnesty crowd.

Do you know the local cable channel (if any) that will be broadcasting the Moran / Taihrt debate tonight?
