Maybe the blockade is a little out dated, but we do business with many countries already that don't like us, and it hasn't changed their feelings towards us at all. Look at Iran. GE does alot of business with them and alot of GE's parts have possibly been used in some of the IEDs that have killed our own soldiers in Iraq. I don't see the benefits of opening trade just yet. Let Fidel Castro die first, and maybe we will see a change in their policies toward us. Then we should revisit the blockade.
