I 100% disagree. Don't Ask Don't Tell needs to stay place.

The only problem with The whole gays in the military thing is not if they can fight or defend our country like everyone else. It's forcing people wo may be uncomfortable with the lifestyle to live right next to them that is probaly the main concern. I am not anti gay, as far as equal rights go, but if others don't want to be around them, there is not anything wrong with that either. I do not think that being around gays is a bad thing, but I don't agree with their choice of life style. I personally think that it's wrong, but I won't treat them any differently than I do the next person. We should let the military decide what is best for them and keep the civilians out of it.

You have never served in the military, so you have no idea what you are talking about. I served in the Navy in the late 80's. Gays were not "allowed", but there were some. I knew a few, some good, some bad. The bad ones usually were beaten to a pulp outside the Main Engine, and were turned in. The Captain sent everyone to Mast, and most lost stripes, pay, and the gay guy rolled out of the Navy, general discharge (discharges for those the Navy deemed as not-eligible for re-enlistment). The Bad ones were the ones who tried to pick up other crew-members, if you know what I mean, or openly flaunted their "life-style" (one paraded around in the complex one night some sort of S&M outfit. He was transferred off the next day after the Chief found out). The "good" ones were the ones who would keep their life-styles to themselves (private), who would do their personal life-style off-ship, off-base (easy when you're stationed in Alameda, across the Bay from San Fran). I had no problem with these sailors. I had the same problem with women abourd combat vessels. There were a special set of rules that you had to have concerning women. And the rules were one-way (at least in the Navy). Women could accuse men of stuff, but men could not women. I feel if the DADT goes though, it will setup a whole new set of rules, especially since most of the "vocal" gays want to be treated as a seperate gender, like women.
