Drug awareness meetings

Great to see the Drug Task force take community concerns seriously and respond with a public meeting about the problem. No reason to wet the bed over drug problems, we all know they exist, but getting information out and conversation between public and it's leaders can go a long way to engendering trust and maybe even curbing problems.

This may not be the right place to put this comment but I remember when I was a kid taking the DARE program. It seemed to me like the whole program is a cheap illicit attempt to con kids into feeling comfortable enough to rat out their parents for whatever things they may be partcipating in. Mostly of which is mild, harmless marijuana use. I think this is horrible to cheaply use and exploit the students in this manner. I also remember DARE was started after the big 1980's propaganda machine and Regan's war on drugs in which he used false and inaccurate studies to valdate his points.
