Trouble for Tiahrt?

If this poll is true, Tiahrt is moving backward. He's trying hard to bring down Moran's favorable rating, blasting away at every opportunity. But it apparently isn't working. CAVEAT - this is an internal poll done FOR Moran, so needs to be taken with a grain of salt.

Both, frankly, have gone a big cookoo trying to suck up the perceived influence of the tea party sentiment. But Tiahrt more so than Moran. In fact Tea Party Express has endorsed Tiahrt. (he can't stop telling people that) If Tiahrt losses, and losses big, will that signal that tea party was overhyped?

If he wins, will that signal the tea party has muscle?

You seem awful concerned with the Tea Party. What you need to understand is that most folks who consider themselves part of the Tea Party do not take marching orders from anyone. I don't understand how the Tea Party can endorse one candidate over another when the Tea Party is made up of individuals, and does not have a board or leaders. We make up our own minds about candidates based on conservative values.

If Tiahrt wins, it would be a signal that Kansans are stupid.

The Tea Party is a ideology, a movement, not a political party. I believe in a lot of the ideals of the Tea Party, but I don't believe there is a "leader". I don't really care for Palin, or Rand Paul (I saw him on Maddow last night...GASP! A Tea Party person watching Maddow?!). As to Tiahrt or Moran... I don't really want to vote for either one, and I haven't heard anything from the Democratic side. Just because I claim to be a Tea Party supporter does not mean I am an ultra-rightwing conversative, and I will vote for them. Hey, I voted for Obama almost two years ago (the lesser of two evils I believed at the time). Currently, I can vote however I want. Does that make me a RINO (Repub in name only)? No. Once I declare myself a party, people expect me to vote a certain way, think a certain way, act a certain way. Today's society is such us vs them, Repub vs Dem, Tea Party vs Progressives. Some of my "politically-minded" friends say I wuss out being an Independant. I just say I like to make my own decisions, not have them made for me by a party.

I am leaning toward Moran, as he seems to be the true conservative.

Are you kidding me???? This has got to be sarcasm, right?

Then who, in your mind, is the "Leader" of the Tea party?

The TEA party is made up of individuals who believe this country is headed in the wrong direction due to government excess and Obama's radical agenda. In other words, anyone who doesn't have their head up their butt.

So you are saying the majority of the rep party has their heads up there? You do realize it's not JUST Obama that the Baggers are against, right? They try to keep the GOP at arm's length as well.

Only a fringe movement agree with your doctrine (including The LaRouche movement, John Birch Society, and the white separatist Council of Conservative Citizens) [http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE62H2YW20100318]. That should tell you something.

6:21,

You really have no grasp of what the TEA party stands for. I can see how it must be hard for a liberal to understand how anyone would want to stand up and fight for their country. The country that our founding fathers had in mind when they drafted the Constitution. The country that Obama is trying his best to destroy.

From Wikipedia:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tea_Party_movement

A sample:

The Contract from America lists 10 agenda items that it encourages congressional candidates to follow:

1. Identify constitutionality of every new law: Require each bill to identify the specific provision of the Constitution that gives Congress the power to do what the bill does

2. Reject emissions trading: Stop the "cap and trade" administrative approach used to control pollution by providing economic incentives for achieving reductions in the emissions of pollutants.

3. Demand a balanced federal budget: Begin the Constitutional amendment process to require a balanced budget with a two-thirds majority needed for any tax modification.

4. Simplify the tax system: Adopt a single-rate tax system; eliminate the internal revenue code and replace it with one that is no longer than 4,543 words.

5. Audit federal government agencies for constitutionality: Create a Blue Ribbon taskforce that engages in an audit of federal agencies and programs, assessing their Constitutionality, and identifying duplication, waste, ineffectiveness, and agencies and programs better left for the states or local authorities.

6. Limit annual growth in federal spending: Impose a statutory cap limiting the annual growth in total federal spending to the sum of the inflation rate plus the percentage of population growth.

7. Repeal the health care legislation passed on March 23, 2010: Defund, repeal and replace the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.

8. Pass an 'All-of-the-Above' Energy Policy: Authorize the exploration of additional energy reserves to reduce American dependence on foreign energy sources and reduce regulatory barriers to all other forms of energy creation.

9. Reduce Earmarks: Place a moratorium on all earmarks until the budget is balanced, and then require a 2/3 majority to pass any earmark.

10. Reduce Taxes: Permanently repeal all recent tax increases, including those to the income tax, capital gains tax and estate taxes, currently scheduled to begin in 2011.

----

As far as the Tea Party being against Republicans, you need to read the whole story, not just headlines. The Tea party is against MODERATE leaning Republicans (RINOs) who carry liberal ideas an agendas. The point is to vote people into office with strong CONSERVATIVE roots and agendas. That's the only way we are going to save this country. Another twenty years of Liberals having free reign, and heading down the path Obama has started us down, and this country would surely destroy itself. It is scary to think about.

Yeah, well I don't put a lot of stock into wikipedia. Those articles are written by anyone who wants to submit one. SG loves to quote wikipedia.

As far as libs understanding, check my link and you will see libs make up a chunk of baggers.

Well, if you take the time, Wikipedia does list and link to the sources.

Looks like the White House is up to it's old tricks again. Bribing people for political gain.

I hope the ethics committee jumps all over this.

I bet you don't put much stock into anything that proves that you are wrong. It's all a vast right wing conspiracy.

Guess what the source is? Contract from America website.
Nope, sorry, I don't consider that a source that proves me wrong. Of course their site isn't going to show the real truth - why would it?

Baaaaa, sheep. It's called due diligence. Wikipedia is good for 15 year olds plagiarizing term papers, but adults go to the source.

Oh, but that can't possibly be corect, because it was on Wikipedia, and it wasn't all biased. RIGHT???!!! That just proves that it is not as biased as you say.

And there was more than one source at the bottom of the article. A HUUNDRED AND SIXTY TWO in fact. Did you read all of them?

Anonymous said...

Yeah, every single one. Moron.

You just proved my point!
