Taxes lowest since 1950

Looks like our sales tax is going up a penny. That will bite, but here's what belies the religious ferment of the anti-tax lobby and feeling among some people/lawmakers in this country -- The amount of taxes paid are at the lowest level since 1950. This analysis was done by USA TODAY.

FURTHERMORE, part of the reason tax burden on individuals is so low is because of OBAMA's tax cut for the middle class under the stimulus package.

Those worried about over-spending, which is a real problem but arguably necessary to pull out of near depression - should not rule out tax increases to fix it. Cutting spending and seeking new revenues is how a budget gets balanced. That's how Clinton balanced the budget. Even Ronald Reagan agreed to tax increases to help cut the deficit.

What gets me is they pass the bill, and the same day, the Wichita School Board says they will stop looking for items to cut in their budget because the bill passed. Why not keep looking for items to cut? If there are wasteful practices out there, why not find them, and cut them. instead of just saying "oh, we're going to get more money, let's stop looking". That's like filing a bucket full of holes with water. Instead of plugging the holes, they just poor in more water to fill it up. It's still leaking water. I hope our USD doesn't have that attitude.

And we must remember to thank Obama for giving us the largest deficit in the history of this country!

You're gonna have to spin it better than that!

Well its all in how you want to turn the worm? Isn't it?

The lowest taxes doesn't really account for all the Stealth taxes that are being or must be paid!

Like the high cost of Health Insurance and medical care costs that are clearly paid by the Insurance companies and indivduals to offset the losses Hospitals are forced to eat for care of non-paying patients! (Obama's healthcare bill is only going to make things worse!) We can just get money from the Federal Government who just puts in on their Credit Card - then adds it National Debt!

or

Many of the other Social Programs that are subsidized by deffered taxing through the States or Federal Government! (Freddie and Fannie, Public Retirement Plans etc.)

With programs like KPERS and CALPERS who are unfunded in the billons of dollars! (KPERS is even admiting that they can't invest their way into the Black!) They are paying out close to 1 billion annnualy and have somewhere in the
neighborhood of 10yrs. (10-11 billion) in current assets.

You liberals want to put
Bandaids on severed arteries!

So

What do you do when the taxpayers can't bleed anymore?
