Don't spend, unless

The problem with Tiarht and Moran, and lots of other GOP primary races, is that they are acting like they have been spend thrifts all their lives but their records are contrary,at this editorial shows.

Not only that, but how will they cut spending? By far the biggest areas are social security, medicare and defense. Are they up for axing some of that?

what ever happened to the "term limit" rhetoric that Tiahrt espoused when he initially ran? Was he just telling people what they wanted to hear?

In response to a poster on the previous page of posts!

What it takes to run for and serve as POTUS or any elected office is, first of all the guts to not be anonymous with everything you say. Then it takes thinking through to solutions.

--------------

I don't need to run for President or think through my solutions!

We just need to quit keeping failures in Politics, Business
and Economics ALIVE when they should FAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Qiut letting things get too BIG to FAIL!
Quit propping them up or extending their duration!
Let them FAIL while they a small enough and before they can have an effect on everyone and everything else!

See, the answer wasn't all that hard - even for a BIG ol Liberal like YOU and a little conservative like me!

Tiahrt's obvious and indefensible hypocrisy on spending and term limits are not what scares me about him. His concern that Muslim's are having more babies than Christians paints a picture of the man that scares me to death. The mere fact of that thought entering his mind tells me a lot about him and his worldview, and one that I can not support. Primary should be a fun thing to watch!!!

But not a single plausible solution in one sentence that you offer. Perhaps it was also you who declared, the sky is falling. The sky is falling.

Well in case you didn't get the message from my preceding post!

If you want to promote failure!

If you want to subsidize failure!

If you want to distribute failure!
(Through debt!)

Yeah, I'd say the Sky is falling!

Because on the opposite end of failure is SUCCESS!

And

A Blue Sky of Freedom to replace the dark clouds that come with Socialism!

That "blue sky of freedom" quote is by the president of China!

Nice.

OK, I think I got it. If you want to prevent sick be well. If you want to prevent poor be rich. If you want to prevent crime be safe.

There is clearly a ton of how tos included in that right.

IF you don't problems in a country, don't have them?

The shame is that I feel like I am trading thoughts with a 2nd grader and I am still trading thoughts. I guess at some point I will be hearing nana nana boo boo as your closing argument.

You are just a bitter critic who has no idea of what went wrong or, more importantly, what to do about it. That's why you're on here throwing blind grendaes instead out actually doing something.

Why don't you just let it go and go out and put your seat belt on and buy some helth insurance. At least you would be saving the life of one disadvantaged person.

Isn't an editorial not a lot more than a bunch of twist to what the editor wants one to read and believe? Oh.....no sorry. That's about 99% journalism. I bad

Well I certainly don't agree with Communism!

But, China is adopting more and more Capitalistic ideas and values!

While we are adopting more restrictive policies that reflect Socialism and Communism!

Go figure!

Todays 2nd Graders probably have more common Horse Sense than some of those who have advanced degrees!

The government did not make one industry too big fail. Bubba, you did it by patronizing them and spending your dollars with them.

-----------

Btw: My Second Grade friend said your wrong:

When they were considering the Luxury tax the Auto Industry was just developing the SUV market (built on truck frames)!
The tax would have severly impacted that market!
Soooo they made a tax exemption for vehicles over 6000# that got extended to every business owner who could qualify - Drs', Lawyers, tax accountants - and our consumption of Gas and oil went through the roof! (Gee, we could sure use that tax money now!)

Then we subsidized the housing market with the First time Home Buyers plan!
Guess how that turned out?

Then don't forget the Banks and the changes in or lack of regulations that allowed the merger of investment and tradition banking!

Don't tell me that Government isn't to blame for manipulating demand and making things TOO BIG!

Including Government!

you know, Arkansas City used to have alot more Cottonwood trees here. I remember as a kid those little white thingies blowing every summer. Now e don't have as many.

Also, I recall the ACHS basketball team playing McPherson to a triple OT one point loss. We were so competitive back then. And, there was a night sargent working for ACPD who would see young kids getting into things that he knew their parents would not approve. He scolded them and made them go home instead of arresting them and running a "revenue tab" on their family.

Lets see. what else? I recall Cowley College having a decent football team just before they eliminated the program.

Now these are all things we, too, can blame on government. Specifically, these things went bad because they knew Obama would become President and ruin the nation.

Yup! It's all big government's fault.

You still didn't get it?

The Government was who created those programs! (Yeah with a little help from the lobbyist!
They subsidized them through tax dollars/incentives/deductions!)

Then the Businesses and/or Corporations got blamed when they failed! (Then they bailed them out with tax dollars!)

AND

That's not TRUE competition or Capitaliism!

Well if it had been Obama?

He would have no doubt declared a state of emergency - then martial law!

No election necessary!

Do you even hear yourselves anymore? It's time for Obama to grow up and stop blaming his failed policies on the last President. Bush wasn't perfect, but he kept us safe. he didn't cater to the Muslims or bow to foreign leaders, and most importantly, he didn't apologize to the world for being America.

That's what makes all this talk such an exercise in idiocy. If he had kept us safe, the attacks of September 11, 2001 would never have happened.

How STUPID do you have to be to say "Bush kept us safe." He was in Florida reading books to kindergarteners while we were being attacked.

My God. It's people like you who want to write and re-write histroy books to cater to your distorted version fo truth.

How could anyone of functional brain mass say Bush kept us safe. In fact, he didn't even react for at least half an hour after the attacks were confirmed.

He just sat there reading cat in the hat while Cheeney was loading up his fricking shot gun to "go out and shoot me some Arbas."

Sheesh. Bush kept us safe? Lety's hope they legalize dope bofre someone finds out who you are. You wold do hard time under current for the stuff you obviously are using.

Tell the families of those 3000 casualties at WTC of 9/11 how safe Bush kept us. Share those thoughts with the survivors of the folks who went down on that plane in Pa that Bush kept them safe.

Smoke it or drink it; whichever makes you think the way you do.
