A taxing debate
Kuhn and Smith didn't like the Ark City chamber's stance on the state budget and taxes, which led in part to chamber dropping out of Kansas Chamber. Kuhn would have more credibility on this if he actually paid his taxes (on time).

He's just posturing for those votes from downtown.
That's silly. Mell has absolutely no interest in re-election. Sometimes people just say the most foolish things.
You create your own reality - in fact you create your problems where none exist. The Chamber position is again, so Ark City.
Of course we are more influential by not belonging to a group right? Maybe instead of being reactionary, the Chamber should have been more vocal and active when the state org was shaping policy.
Considering that we are a small player from a small market, our withdrawal won't matter. In fact, run the list of Chamber communities who have withdrawn "in protest" and I think you will see that they all were really motivated more by a facade of a reason to cut cost by jipping a year of membership fees.
Our Chamber has struggled financially since the move to Summit street. The membership has declined. A significant portion of the members aren't current on their annual dues.
So, feign offense at a state org policy and shirk the annual fee for a year or two. We aren't a player in the state org and neither side will miss the other through this ruse.
But it's a good time to take a poke at Mell. I am supposing at this point he really doesn't care.
HAHA....I wrote a comment only slightly defending Kuhn and the editor won't post it.....HAHAHAHAHA. It just goes to show that he hates it when someone points out a different view point.
Someone should question the chamber. They definately didn't seem to care what their members thought was best.
Regardless of what you think of Mr. Kuhn he should ask the questions. And I'm going to guess the questions are some that other people (members) would like an answer for also.
the chamber should be closed and forgot, it is useless and we have no recreation or come to ark city spots to promote anyway, our police Chief has made it quite a discusting town to live in by his own admissions on TV

I say its the beginning of the end of the Ark City Chamber.

I'm surprised you care so much about taxes. 1/2 of Obama's cabinet doesn't pay their taxes. Just sayin'
